Safety:

scissors should be observed. Check
continually that no body part (like the tip an ear
or fold of skin) is between the blades prior to
cutting. |

Directions:
Begin by deciding the length to which you wish to trim your pet's
hair. Scaredy Cut is compatible with most conventional hair clipper
guide combs and many sizes are available. The six guide combs
included, when used with Scaredy Cut , will trim to the following
lengths: Comb #1 - 0.5", Comb #2 - 0.6", Comb #3 - 0.7", Comb
#4 - 0.8", Comb #5 - 0.9", Comb #6 - 1" (the shorter lengths indicated
on the combs apply to their use with an electric hair clipper).
Attach the selected comb to Scaredy Cut. by first placing the
front edge of the mounting block into the V shaped groove of the
guide comb and then snapping the latch in place at the back edge
(the edge with rounded corners).
Trimming your pet: (refer to the cartoon
to the left)
Begin by brushing your pet. Don't force your pet as this alone
can create fear. Present this activity as a treat and work only
as long as they are cooperative, which may mean that you trim
your pet over several sessions. Do not trim a pet that is not
under your control. Only one hand is required to use Scaredy Cut
. You can use your free hand to handle your pet, hold locks of
hair to be cut, or brush the hair. Work against the direction
of hair growth, moving from the tail toward the head. Remove large
locks of hair by holding them out with your free hand (do NOT
pull on the fur) and making single cuts. The initial result will
be an uneven, choppy surface. Once most of the hair has been removed
by making single cuts this uneven surface can be evened out by
making multiple, rapid cuts, as the guide comb is pulled through
the hair. You can use a brush to comb up the hair for cutting.
Do
not pull the fur into the comb as pulling your pets fur
can cause discomfort and their skin, which can be very
flexible, can be pulled up into the blades as well.
